Solidarity with Ukraine

The Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour stands in solidarity with all those who are directly or indirectly impacted by the war in Ukraine. Given the urgent need and in consultation with its supervisory authority, its internal actors and its partners, the university is mobilizing:

Support to students enrolled at the UPPA

Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian students who encounter administrative or material difficulties (blocked accounts, non-renewal of official documents...) are invited to send an email to the International Welcome Desk (welcome @ univ-pau.fr). This service will then put students in touch with the relevant university and CROUS services and the designated student intermediaries.

Reception of students in exile

The UPPA has made a commitment to the MESRI to welcome refugee students in its courses of study (taught in French, in English, and FLE courses) within the framework of the "Ukraine Emergency" program set up by Campus France. Students eligible for temporary protection who wish to enroll in a French higher education institution can register on the dedicated platform or email Campus France (ukraine @ campusfrance.org), giving their family name, first name, nationality and describing their situation. Campus France will help them resume their studies in France.

Reception of researchers in exile

Special funds have been made available under the PAUSE program to host Ukrainian researchers for three months. Directors of research units who would like to host colleagues in this context may send an email to the International Welcome Desk (welcome @ univ-pau.fr).

Gymglish supports Ukrainian refugees

In order to express its solidarity and support for the Ukrainian people, the online course platform Gymglish offers language courses free of charge to Ukranians (courses in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian).

UNITA is mobilized

The European UNITA alliance, of which the UPPA is a member, has published a joint statement calling for peace and dialogue, and expressing genuine solidarity towards the Ukrainian people and a special fraternity with the academic community in Ukraine. The colleagues of Timisoara are in direct link with the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University in Ukraine and the alliance will mobilize to answer concrete needs as they arise.

The UPPA thanks the entire university community for its support and help which honors the university’s values of humanism and hospitality.
